Cycling is more popular than ever, which is why many new types of bikes are hitting the roads and trails of the world. Border crossers, such as gravel bikes or even SUVs, like to switch between asphalt and off-road and thus pose a special challenge to their tires. The same applies to (e-)cargo bikes, which are now replacing many cars and thus, in the truest sense of the word, play a supporting role. What has been known for years from the sporty areas of application - such as MTB or road bikes - is also continuing in the city & trekking area: the requirements for bikes are becoming more and more specific and the individual components must be perfectly matched to the respective application.

MOUNTAIN BIKE - NEW CASINGS

The entire mountain bike range has received an extensive update in the form of new carcass constructions. The tires are now even better adapted to their respective field of application and thanks to their self-explanatory designations (Super Downhill, Super Gravity, Super Trail, Super Ground and Super Race) quick and easy to find.

NEW TREAD DESIGNS

In addition to the carcass update, two new profiles also make their way into the 2021 range: the revised Nobby Nic is now even better suited for all-round use and with the reissue of the Big Betty, a true classic returns to the Schwalbe tire range in 2021. The portfolio also holds various color options: many tires are available as Classic, Transparent or Bronze Sidewall options.

NOBBY NIC

The latest edition of the Nobby Nic makes it the perfect all-rounder on the MTB. The aggressive profile offers maximum control in cornering with supported side lugs. In addition, the special knob arrangement in the center provides outstanding braking and propulsion traction.

Big Betty has been completely redesigned for the 2021 season: The long brake edges provide maximum traction and the massive shoulder blocks provide grip in tight cornering. This makes the Big Betty on the rear wheel the perfect partner for our Magic Mary.

NEW TIRE SEGMENT: E-CARGO

More and more cargo bikes are conquering the inner cities. It is not only young families who would like to do without a car that are discovering this type of cycling for themselves. Companies are also turning to cargo bikes to cover the "last mile" in an environmentally friendly way. Especially in commercial use, cargo bikes are subjected to great stress, as daily use with heavy loads and changing surfaces puts enormous strain on the material. With the Schwalbe Pick-Up, we have an answer to the new challenges, because it is the first cargo tire developed specifically for e-cargo bikes.

NEW TIRE SEGMENT: SUV TIRES

So-called "all terrain bikes" or SUVs are becoming increasingly popular. These are hybrids of mountain bikes and city bikes that are usually built as e-bikes. The advantage: thanks to mudguards and lights, you are safe on the road; coupled with MTB comfort in the form of (full) suspension and grippy, bulky tires, the bicycle SUVs are also extremely capable of off-road use. The new Schwalbe SUV tires combine durability, smooth running and puncture protection of modern city tires with the grippy as well as versatile profiles of the MTB world. The various SUV tire models are easy to find using the new filter functions.

SCHWALBE PICK-UP

The Schwalbe Pick-Up was developed specifically for use on the E-Cargo Bike and is therefore ideal for carrying heavy loads. The double carcass provides not only for its steadfastness, but also for an extremely high level of puncture protection.

JOHNNY WATTS

The best of both worlds: The new Johnny Watts was developed specifically for SUV use. When driving on asphalt, it runs smoothly, with low vibration and extremely quietly. At the same time, it offers plenty of traction and safety when venturing off-road.

NEW CASINGS

Gravel bikes stand for great freedom. Their field of application is virtually unlimited, because they feel just as comfortable on asphalt as on gravel roads or easy trails. So that they are well prepared for every adventure, all Schwalbe G-One tires of the Evolution Line were equipped with the new Super Ground carcasses: thanks to puncture protection insert and three carcass layers under the tread, the new G-One tires find the ideal balance of safety and weight.

G-ONE ULTRABITE

The G-One Ultrabite offers an extremely aggressive profile, which provides unprecedented traction and tremendous safety in lean angles. This makes the Ultrabite particularly suitable for use on the front wheel.

NEW EXECUTIONS: SCHWALBE PRO ONE

Rims are also becoming wider and wider in the road bike sector, as this has a positive influence on driving feel and performance. Wider tires go hand in hand with this development and offer the rider more comfort and grip. The Schwalbe Pro One line is available for the 2021 season in even more voluminous versions with sizes up to 32-622. In addition, exciting new color options have been added with the Transparent Sidewall variants, in which the carcass layers of the tire can be seen.

COMPATIBILITY WITH HOOKLESS RIMS (TSS)

Hookless rims are also becoming increasingly popular in the road bike sector, as they allow a lower overall weight and better durability compared to conventional rims with hook design. However, when using hookless rims, it is imperative to pay attention to the compatibility of rims and tires. The new Schwalbe Pro One TLE and Schwalbe One TLE models are in principle suitable for use with hookless rims. More information on compatibility is available here:
