TEST WINNER: SCHWALBE DURANO DD
BIG ALL-WEATHER TIRE COMPARISON TEST
Road cycling in autumn and winter conditions is not only particularly demanding for the rider, but also for the tires. Wet, salt and grit demand more grip and high puncture protection - at the same time, the tires should offer comfort and run as smoothly as possible.
The racing bike magazine RoadBike has tested a total of 11 tires from different manufacturers for precisely these properties. In the laboratory and in practice. All tested tires are about 28 mm wide, because wider tires can be driven with less air pressure. The advantage: more comfort, more grip, more safety.
"The best overall performance in the test was delivered by Schwalbe's Durano DD...excellent puncture protection values.... rolls (the tire) easily, conveys a lot of riding feel and is easy to mount - test win!" RoadBike
